- Finally finished 'Lust' and uploaded it. It had been about 10 years in the making and I finally got motivated to finish it and get it uploaded. It's more sort of an industrial/techno type synth heavy song; real dark sounding. And, no, before you ask, it isn't about molesting a girl (even though it could be construed that way), it's about 2 consenting adults role playing. I understand what the double meaning can imply, but I would never condone such activity.
Dwell is still slowing getting new songs recorded; getting them done as schedules are permitting. We are almost done with number song nubmer 7 ('Gods') and 8 ('Late Again')
Doing a little work on another, yet unnamed project with a drummer friend of mine. He's a hard hitting, double-bass made man. It'll probably be just a few songs on Myspace for fun due to his crazy work schedule, but it will be 180 degrees from Dwell.
30Jul06
- Marc and I sat in with Mr. Blackwell last night
for a mini Tribe reunion. Considering we didn't rehearse, things went
very well. The place was pretty packed and the performance was well received.
Besides the few pics that I got, I know someone took a video of it that
I hope to get soon. If it turned out decent, I'll post it.
Dwell stuff is moving along. We just about have the 5th song competed
and we have 5 more to start doing final recordings. I think Dwell is staring
to find its sound and a quite interesting one at that.
Starting to do more recording with MAP. Marc is using a few of the songs
with his new band, Line
of Fire, but, there are 4 or 5 more we are going to finish up. Those
will be posted on myspace when completed.
29Jun06 - Posted some new pics to check out.
Dwell is still working on writing and recording new songs. We have the
first 4 complete and there are probably 6 or 7 in various stages of completion.
Keep checking our myspace page for more updates on the band.
Haven't done much work on the Marc Anthony Project. Marc joined a new
band (Line of Fire) that plays similar music, so they are going to end
up using 4 of the 8 songs in the new band, but we plan on finishing the
other 4 as time permits.
31Mar06 - Finally...'Machines'
is complete. Only 16 years after it was originally recorded and 3 years
after I started re-recording it, I finally finished it. I just sort of
lost interest in its recording and just set it aside. I just happened
to listen to it a few weeks back and just got inspired to finish it. All
it needed was vocals, bass and keyboards. I ended up adding a cool layered
vocal part and a harmony as well, which was the first I ever recorded.
It really turned out better than I hoped.
Dwell's first demo, 'OtherSide', is finally availabe on myspace as well. It's still a little rough, but overall, it sounds good and has
gotten some good response. There are also 3 more Dwell demos in varying
stages of recording that will be coming soon.
04Mar06 - The
new project finally has a name. Dwell. It's short, sweet and simple. Writing
is still coming along and we should have a song or two up on myspace in
the next few weeks. So keep checking back!
12Feb06 - Writing with the new
project is coming along well. We have 3 or 4 near completion and quite
a few bits and pices of other music just needing to be put together. We
tentatively have a name, so hopefully we can create a logo and start getting
a website (or a myspace site at a minimum) so people can start checking
things out.
14Jan06 - Where does the time go? Already 2006;
new year, new opportunities.
Getting the new band together is still moving along. Even though the holidays
slowed things down and Brian (drums) has some out-of-town commitments,
progress is being made thanks to technology. I have been writing tons
of new riffs and parts and sending them to Brian and Randall to listen
to and work with. Randall has also been coming over on a regular basis
to jam and work on music. We should be able to all get together on a regular
basis starting February to get things moving along to see what the 3 of
us can create together in the same room. Should be some very interesting
music due to our diverse and different backgrounds.
I was finally able to get a hold of the Tribe footage from August 04.
It's pretty good, but not as good as the stuff from Kagney's. You can
barely hear the keys it, but it's still good stuff. I'll be getting it
up on the site for your viewing enjoyment.
You also probably saw I got some HeadBelt footage up on the site. Out
of the 3 shows I had taped, that one was the best. Even thought it isn't
the greatest footage, I think it's still good stuff.
