23Jul02 - 'Haunt Your Flesh' is coming along. I finished tweaking the drum track and doing the demoing. I have already recorded all of the heavy guitars and will move to the acoustic parts next.
16Jul02 - I am really
liking this new format. Gives me the freedom to update at will.
Think I'll keep it for awhile.
Song change once again. I have decided to
dedicate myself to rerecording 'Haunt Your Flesh', which one of my favorite
songs of all time. I original wrote and recorded it when I first got to
Holland in 1992(I can't believe it's been 10 years already) and then rerecorded
in 1996, but that was still on the analog gear. It was suppose to be the
first song I did when I first went digital, but it just never happened. I
have revisited it many times, even went as far as doing the entire drum part
(almost 2 years ago), but it has been sitting idle for quite a long time.
I have been spending some time doing a full demo of it and trying some new
things with the vocals. I hope to start recording soon.
I have also added the lyrics to 'Haunt Your Flesh'. You
can check them out here.
I am also getting some old stuff converted from analog to
digital. For some reason, I thought I had did it already, but it appears
that I have not. All of the material is from Aittala in Holland. It
includes the first demo we did (which was too shitty to by released; special
thanks to Tymen for wasting my money), a live recording from a gig (a place
called the SSR) in Jun of 93 and a radio interview from a local music show in
the Dutch city of Utrecht.
The demo included 'Haunt Your Flesh', 'Family Traditions',
and 'Creators of Doom'. I also recall 'Machines' being recorded as
well, but, as I recall, that song was FUBR and did not even have a final mix
down. It's a shame I don't have a copy of it just for laughs.
The live recording sounds fairly decent. Nothing
spectacular in the playing though. Lots of mistakes, but it was alot of
fun. Crowd was really into near the end.
The radio interview was kind of cool, but it was in
Dutch, so not much participation from Tim or I; all Ed and Jan. There is
an acoustic version of 'Machines', but the person running the sound that day
decided to switch microphones half way through and fucking up the entire broadcast
of the song. I am still pissed about that.
07Jul02 - Here is the new format I talked about last
week. I am going to start dedicating a page per month and then update when
I feel it is necessary. I'll try this for a little while and see how it
goes.
I have decided to put 'Misery' on hold for a
little while. I just lost the motivation to work on it, but it'll kick in
a little later. I have now started working on a song I originally wrote
back in 1990 called 'Machines'. It is the touching love song of a man and
his comatose love. I am currently getting the drum pattern finished.
As soon as I have that complete, I will start the process demoing it to see if I
want to change anything from the original or just keep it as I originally wrote
it.
